Youngtimer Camp Draws a Full House at LaitseRallyPark and Unveils Two Rare Estonian-Built Cars

The tenth anniversary Youngtimer Camp, held at LaitseRallyPark on Saturday, July 25, attracted a full house of enthusiasts. Around 300 display vehicles took part in the event, the best cars were awarded in eight categories, and visitors were treated to the unveiling of two rare cars built in Estonia.

This year's Youngtimer Camp featured approximately 300 display vehicles, attracting thousands of visitors throughout the day. In addition to the car exhibition, the programme included demonstration and passenger rides, sporting activities, and entertainment for visitors of all ages. Guests had the opportunity to drive their own cars on the track, experience a drift car ride, or take a ride in a 100-year-old Ford Model T.

Two Estonian-built cars were unveiled during the event. The latest Estonia Formula car, the Estonia 26-9 from 2000, was presented alongside a surprise exhibit – the Aiar sports car, of which only a handful were produced in the 1970s. The fibreglass-bodied coupé was built using Lada mechanical components. The Aiar will remain on temporary display at LaitseRallyPark, while the Estonia 26-9 is part of the park's permanent exhibition. The Formula car was presented by its first driver, Meelis Telliskivi.

The jury selected a 1995 Audi S6 as the Best Youngtimer of the event, praising its near showroom condition, originality, and rare factory red colour.

The judging panel consisted of automotive journalist Tõnu Korrol, car collector Andres Lell, Margus Pipar (Autoleht/AutoGeenius), Peeter Sarevet (Benefit), and Kristjan Sooper (Estonian Autosport Union). The event was hosted by Kaspar Sepp. The guest of honour was Margus-Hans Kuuse, one of the pioneers of Estonian automotive journalism.

The Public Choice Award went to a 1994 BMW 525. The public vote was exceptionally close, with the winning car securing victory by just a single vote.

This year marked the tenth edition of Youngtimer Camp. The next event will take place on 31 July 2027. Participation is open to vehicles that are at least 25 years old, meaning that cars built in 2002 or earlier will be eligible next year.
